Chevening Scholarships will cover £18,000 of the tuition costs for a one-year postgraduate program. Any tuition for a postgraduate degree course in excess of this sum will be covered by the student’s own resources. The students will have to demonstrate that they have the resources necessary to cover any disparities in addition to the £18,000 in tuition that the university charges.

A monthly stipend: The Chevening Scholarship will only pay for your reasonable living costs, such as housing, utilities, food, and transportation. You will receive, on average, £70–125 per week for housing in shared housing or residence halls, £65–86 for utility bills (gas, water, electricity), £20–40 weekly for food, and £20–40 weekly for local commuting costs. The student will get their monthly stipend through cash card on the 21st of each month. Your monthly stipend should cover your medical and dental expenses as well; the Chevening Scholarship does not provide extra funding for medicines.

Travel costs to and from the UK are taken care of by the Chevening organizers, who will choose a travel agent and pay for the ticket when you book your journey upon scholarship confirmation.

Arrival allowance: The arrival allowance pays for any travel-related costs incurred to the UK. Your cash card will be charged with this amount. The arrival allowance also covers any excess baggage on your flight, the cost of your taxi from the airport to the university, and the cost of police registration when you arrive (if any).

A homeward departure cost: The homeward departure cost will cover the cost of your extra luggage on your return trip from the UK after finishing your programme of study there. A travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK: Students who wish to attend events in the UK that are linked to their study programme or area of expertise while on a Chevening fellowship will be given a total of £200 as a travel grant to do so for the duration of their stay.

The requirements for 2023 Chevening Scholarships for Pakistani Students

To qualify for a Chevening Scholarship, you must fulfill the following conditions:

  2. Upon expiration of your Chevening award, you must return to your country of origin.
