Intent of this procedure
This process will be employed to staff indeterminate full time intervals. Deployment may be thought first.

If a Civilian Member (CM) be seen qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not lead to a change of status to the Public Service (PS) group for your CM. Information concerning the CM appointment will be transmitted to all applicable candidates that are within the area of choice and engaged in the promoted procedure.

Successful conclusion of a Telecommunications Operator Training Program recognized by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)

OR

Successful challenge for RCMP National Telecommunications Operator Training Program credits, according to RCMP National Telecommunications Operator training policy. *

The term “Successful challenge” means candidates from other police agencies (not police officers) who’ve been doing this type of job (call-taking and/or dispatching) and that have gone through a training program may take the examination without attending the in-class training. They will, nevertheless, need to engage and be successful in field training.

Capability to correctly spell words which seem similar but are spelled differently and have differing meanings based on the context in which they are being used. (Spelling (Audio))

“These credentials will be evaluated utilizing the applications, CritiCall. Each qualification is directly connected to an evaluation module in CritiCall and applicants should satisfy the established pass-mark of each test module to continue in the decision procedure.

The following can be applied / assessed at a later date (may be Required for the job)
Ability to type/keyboard at 43 internet w.p.m. with less than 5 percent error rate
Ability to complete field coaching and successfully challenge RCMP National Telecommunications Operator Training Program exam within 3 months of employment.

Requirements of employment
Reliability Reputation security clearance

Ability and willingness to work shift work (24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year)
Ability and willingness to travel and testify in court .
Ability and willingness to travel for mandatory operational training.
Ability and willingness to perform on short notice and overtime to meet operational needs
Exposure to emotionally charged customers and incidents that might be traumatic, violent and disturbing
Meets and maintains the medical profile criteria set for the situation.
Meets and maintains some additional medical conditions for isolated posts, according to Treasury Board policy and definitions of all places.
Work in a restricted or restrictive workspace, wear a headset, and vulnerability to numerous computer screens, and noise disturbances for extended intervals.
