Czech Government Masters and Doctoral Scholarships 2023-2024 is a Government of Czeck Republic Masters Scholarship for developing countries.

Scholarships for study at Czech public higher education institutions (referred to as “universities”) are given to nationals of the developing nations listed below. This practice is a significant and long-standing component of the Czech Republic’s international development cooperation. Over 20 000 foreign nationals have finished their studies at Czech institutions since the late 1950s with financial aid from the Czech government.

As of January 28, 2019, a Resolution of the Government of the Czech Republic No. 77 governs government scholarships for university studies in the country as part of a joint foreign development cooperation program pursued by the Ministries of Education, Youth, and Sports (https://www.msmt.cz/) and Foreign Affairs (https://www.mzv.cz/) implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Health (https://www.mzcr.cz/).

About the Czech Government Masters and Doctoral Scholarships 2023-2024

A small number of partial scholarships are now available to students in all fee-based programs at the Faculty of Social Sciences thanks to a kind donation from the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport. For students from poor nations and/or those through political and economic transformation, a total of __scholarships are offered.

Scholarships from the Government of the Czech Republic are awarded in accordance with decisions made by the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports to support particular Bachelor’s, Master’s, follow-up Master’s, and/or Doctoral study programmes in the full-time mode of study of a particular study program pursued by a university (or its Faculty) for a duration that equals the regular duration of studies. Scholarships cannot be transferred to another person.

 Eligibility

Scholarships are exclusively available to nationals of the nations listed below for the school year 2023–2024:

Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Zambia, Cambodia, Ethiopia, and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
The scholarships are only intended to support the academic endeavors of foreign students from impoverished nations. Therefore, no one who is a citizen of the Czech Republic, a citizen of the European Union, or a foreigner who has a visa that allows them to live permanently on Czech soil may apply for a scholarship.

APPLY FOR GEMS UNDERGRADUATE INTERNATIONALS 2023

These so-called Government Scholarships are designed to cover the standard length of study:

  • in Follow-up Master study programmes plus a one-year-long preparatory course of the Czech language (which is combined with other field-specific training). Government scholarships of this category are awarded to graduates of Bachelor’s degree programmes. They can enrol only in study programmes from the selected areas of study in which instruction is given in the Czech language. Depending on the subject area, applicants are normally required to sit entrance examinations at the university concerned. Successful passing of entrance examinations constitutes a precondition for a scholarship award;
  • in Follow-up Master study programmes or Doctoral study programmes. Government scholarships of this category are awarded to graduates from Bachelor or Master study programmes, respectively, who enrol in study programmes with instruction in the English language

Czech Government Masters and Doctoral Scholarships 2023-2024 Selection Criteria:

The scholarships’ only goal is to support adult foreigners from developing nations who are studying and are in financial need. Therefore, this kind of scholarship cannot be awarded to a Czech national, a citizen of an EU member state, or any other foreign national who has been granted permission to live permanently in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, those under the age of 18 are not eligible for the scholarships. (The applicants must be at least 18 years old by September 1 of the year they begin their studies in the Czech Republic.)

In programs leading to a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree plus a one-year English language preparation course (which is integrated with additional field-specific training): Graduates from upper secondary schools or Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programs, as appropriate, who can enroll only in study programs with instruction in English are eligible for government scholarships in this category. Applicants are typically required to take entrance exams at the concerned higher education institution, depending on the academic area. The successful completion of the entrance exam is a requirement for the scholarship award; alternatively,

Graduates of Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree Programs are eligible to apply for government scholarships in this category for Doctoral or Further Study Programs. Enroll in the WHO study programs with English-language instruction.

Czech Government Masters and Doctoral Scholarships 2023-2024 Scholarship Benefits

The scholarship pays for all essential expenses associated with visiting and attending school in the Czech Republic. The scholarship award amount is adjusted frequently.
Students currently receive CZK 14,000 a month for their studies toward a bachelor’s, master’s, or follow-up master’s degree.
In contrast, doctoral study program students receive CZK 15,000 in monthly compensation.

The scholarship amounts listed above include money set aside for paying for lodging expenses. The same rules that apply to students who are Czech nationals apply to scholarship recipients, who must cover the costs of lodging, food, and public transportation. The student is responsible for paying for any additional medical treatments that are needed if they are not considered standard care.
